The Allegany County Combined Warrant Unit, Maryland State Police, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, and Maryland Department of Correction’s Warrant Apprehension Unit conducted a warrant sweep on Monday, August 19, 2024. As a result, the following individuals were apprehended:
Sherman E. Denmark, 43 of Lonaconing, was served two (2) District Court Warrants.
1. Bench Warrant for Failure to Comply with Peace Order
2. Arrest Warrant for Charges including: Harassment, Violation of Peace Order, Trespass Private Property
Additional charges for Denmark are pending. When Law Enforcement Officers arrived at Demark's residence in Lonaconing, Denmark initially came out of his home at the Officers request. When Denmark was informed there were multiple warrants for his arrest, Denmark retreated back into his home, barracking himself inside. When Denmark would not comply with Law Enforcement Officers to come out of the residence, Officers were forced to make entry into the home. Denmark was then placed under arrest without further incident. He is being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center pending a bail review.
John William Lytle, 44 of Westernport, was served a District Court Arrest Warrant for Assault-2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment. Lytle was released on his own recognizance by the court commissioner.
Richard Allen Marsh, 38 of Westernport, was served a District Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation under the original conviction of CDS: Possess-Not Cannabis where he served a 6-month jail sentence and was placed on 1-year Supervised Probation. Marsh is being held without bond pending a bail review.
Garry Lee Sheppard Jr., 45 of Mt Savage, was served a District Court Arrest Warrant for the following charges: Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,000, Disorderly Conduct, Disorderly: Disturbing the Peace, Littering Over 100 lbs Tampering With M/V and Throwing Objects at Vehicles. Sheppard was released on his own recognizance.
Eric Joseph Parker, 47 of Cumberland, was served two (2) District Court Bench Warrants.
1. Failure to Appear – Original Charge: Assault-2nd Degree
2. Violation of Probation – Original Conviction: Theft Less Than $100 where he received a 90-day suspended sentence with 12-months unsupervised probation. Parker is being held without bond pending a bail review.
Zachary William Kaylor, 23 of Cumberland, was arrested on a District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. His original charges include: Theft: $25,000 to under $100,000 and Malicious Destruction of Property Over $1,000. Kaylor was released after posting a $10,000 – 100% corporate bond.
Robert Brian Winner, 38 of Mt Savage, was arrested on three (3) Bench Warrants.
1. Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Court-Ordered Commitment from the original conviction for felony Theft: $1,500 to Under $25,000 and sentenced of a jail term of 1-year.
2. District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Obey Court Order from the original conviction for CDS: Admin Equip Possession/Distribution and sentenced of a jail term of 9-months.
3. District Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation from the original conviction for CDS Possess – Not Cannabis and sentence of a jail term of 6-months. Winner is being held without bond pending bail reviews in both District and Circuit Courts.
Kristy Marie Mills, 43 of Rawlings, was served a District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. Her original charge: Theft: $100 to under $1,500. Mills was released on her own recognizance.
Tia Marie Wilkinson, 42 of Cumberland, was served a District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear. Her original charge: Theft Less Than $100. Wilkinson was released on her own recognizance.
Correctional Officers assigned to the Allegany County Detention Center were staged at District Court to assist and were a huge asset to the success of this warrant sweep.
