Justice Appoints Wife to State Board of Education

November 11th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Some detractors are calling the move “nepotism,” but West Virginia Governor Jim Justice says his wife is more than qualified for appointment to the state board of education. Cathy Justice will serve a nine-year term on the board – a position that is not compensated.  She has been instrumental in the Communities in Schools program as well as the Friends With Paws Therapy Dog initiative. The governor said he had to convince her at first to take the job, but now she is eager to go to work…

“She’s fired up now and ready to go and do the job. She’s an in-state graduate from Marshall University and Cathy – many of you don’t know this, but Cathy was a teacher a long, long, long time ago.”
