Jones, Johnson, Schlauch Earn Wins for Men’s Track at Loyola/Hopkins Invite

The Frostburg State Men's Track and Field team traveled to the Hopkins/Loyola Invite hosted by both Johns Hopkins and Loyola University from Friday to Saturday. 

Sophomore Caden Jones won the 10,000 meters, coming in at 33:38.76 to earn FSU's first top finish of the day. In the pole vault, freshman Ryan Schlauch tied atop the standings at 3.19m, while senior Jared Johnson earned first in the shot put at 14.24m to cap off the Bobcats' victories in the meet. 

Junior Nathaniel Mesy earned a pair of runner-up finishes in both the 200 meters (22.66) and 400 meters (48.98), with senior Nick Richardson placing just behind him in fourth for both events at 23.22 and 49.65, respectively. Also in the sprints, freshman Aiden Schwab placed third in the 400-meter hurdles (58.46), while the 4×100 meter relay team of senior Mark Vaughns, Mesy, Richardson, and freshman Aaron Dufresne also came in third at 42.62. 

The men now prepare for the MEC Championships, which will be hosted at Bobcat Stadium from Sunday, April 30 through Tuesday, May 2. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
