West Virginia Governor Jim Justice visited the new Frankfort Elementary School yesterday afternoon. Justice congratulated the staff, encouraged the school’s 700 students, and surprised everyone with a $100,000 dollar check to build a brand new playground. He told WCBC news about the great work being done at the school…
“It’s very impressive, that’s all there is to it. This gymnasium is spectacular, the whole area, you know, is really something. And to see these seven-hundred kids here and how well behaved and how they all came by and said ‘hi’ to Babydog, it is a tribute to the great work that is being done right here at this school, and so, now we’re tickled to have a playground and that’s all good stuff, but all the good stuff has already been done and they’re doing good stuff every day.”
Frankfort Elementary School’s PTO president, Katie Kenney said to WCBC news they have been fundraising and making plans for the playground, and Justice completed it…
“We were really excited he was coming to see our school and bringing Babydog, of course, but the playground check was just unbelievable. There were definitely tears. We’ve been fundraising and planning on a way to get that. It just seemed like such a huge mountain to climb, and there he just completed it for us in the blink of an eye.”
