The Internal Revenue Service is reminding citizens that they can take steps now to ensure a smoother filing season for tax returns. As part of the IRS’s “Get Ready” campaign, taxpayers are encouraged to check for new and expanded digital tools available through IRS.gov. “It just adds another level of security. Plus it adds access to documents from previously filings, so even income statements or other documents that a taxpayer may have submitted to complete the return; the online account gives access to all of those documents.”
