Investigation is continuing into the death of a 7-year old girl who went missing on Labor Day. A 911 call shortly before 2pm Monday brought emergency responders to the McCoole area. The child was found in the area of the Potomac River shortly after the search began. Resuscitation efforts by first responders went on for 30 minutes. Three responders suffered multiple bee stings and required transport to UPMC for treatment. The death is under investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff’s office and the C3I Unit is assisting.
