At the end of last year, the city of Cumberland and Allegany County agreed to purchase 40 acres at the junction of Messick Road and state Route 51 for $250,000. Just ten months later officials say interest from the private sector has been strong. An update on the project was provided during this month’s regular meeting of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation.
