Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot and Treasurer Nancy Kopp both strongly disagree with Governor Larry Hogan “prematurely" discontinuing the extra unemployment benefits- saying the action will hurt Marylanders who have been hit hardest by the pandemic. Extended unemployment benefits were set to end Sept. 6 nationwide, but Hogan has decided it would end July 3 for Maryland.
