Maryland Governor Larry Hogan Thursday announced tens of millions of dollars in state funding to further bolster the emergency response to the coronavirus. The grants are designed to provide financial relief to locally owned and operated businesses within the restaurant industry who have received significant hardship because of COVID-19. Maryland is reporting 159,900 confirmed cases of coronavirus cases as of Thursday, including an additional 1,477 new cases in the past 24 hours. The state's seven-day positivity rate increased to 5.65%, and half of Maryland's jurisdictions have positivity rates above 5%- those include Allegany, Garrett and Washington.
