The Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area has awarded grants to several local organizations that support preservation, interpretation, and tourism development projects throughout the region. Grants have been awarded to the Evergreen Heritage Center in Mount Savage, the Allegany County Virtual History Tour, and the Wills Creek Museum in Cumberland. The awards range from $3,000 to $20,000 and are made possible through funding by the National Park Service.
