Heritage Days Will Feature Historical Re-Enactors

September 9th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Cumberland’s Heritage Days Festival is part entertainment, part educational.  The Wills Creek Muster, which encamps next to the craft show on historic Washington Street, includes living history with re-enactors in period costume including George Washington and General Lew Wallace. Dave Williams of the Allegany County Historical Society says the muster helps tell the stories of Cumberland’s past…

“We have two days of historians who present, in period attire, with monologues about what it was like to be them in the day. And that, combined with our re-enactors from the French and Indian War and the Whiskey Rebellion creates a really nice historic campus that sits right next to the craft show.”
