On Thursday, January 30th, 2025, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department observed a black GMC truck in the area of Henderson Ave with an equipment violation. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact made with the driver, Shawn David Tuma, 52, of Cumberland MD. During the course of the stop, a police K9 was utilized to conduct a free-air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle which indicated positive to the presence of CDS inside. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, Tuma was found to be in possession of a quantity of CDS paraphernalia. He was issued a Criminal Citation for the offense and released, pending trial in District Court.
