On Thursday, June 20th, 2024, a Cumberland Police Officer on patrol in the area of Henderson Ave, observed two male subjects actively fighting each other in the roadway. The officer then exited his patrol vehicle and separated the two subjects, detaining them both. It was discovered that the two subjects had been involved in a “road rage” incident which led to both men exiting their respective vehicle and engaging in the observed assault. As a result, Shawn Anthony Lancaster, 52, and Keith David Mashburn III, 21, both of Cumberland MD, were placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner for bond hearings. Both men were later released on their own recognizance.
