Hearing Today On Forever Chemicals

February 18th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Maryland’s Senate Education, Energy, and the Environment Committee will hold hearings today on a bill that would eliminate the use of PFA’s or “forever chemicals” in pesticides used in the state. PFAs are chemical ingredients in pesticides that can persist in the body for decades, leading to illnesses including cancer and other chronic conditions. Senate Bill 345 would provide for the phasing out of the chemicals used liberally in neighborhoods, homes, lawns, agriculture, mosquito control, hospitals, and schools.
