A bill concerning a proposed new transmission line from Next Era is having a hearing in Annapolis February 11 at 1pm. Senate Bill 399 exempts certain areas in Allegany and Garrett Counties from being designated wildlands to allow the path of a new power line to follow beside existing lines.  Senator Mike McKay is the bill’s sponsor. He says the need for expanding power lines goes beyond utilities…
