The nation's leading public health agency made the recommendation one week before Thanksgiving Day, but some people aren't yet ready to heed the warning. Loading up the groceries one week ahead of schedule, Mia Ball said the day with family she was looking forward to on Thanksgiving won't go as planned.
"I have a toddler at home to worry about. I can't do it," Ball said. "Unfortunately, I won't be going home to New Jersey with my family, so it'll just be me and my little 1-year-old boy. So, just at home, just us two."
The CDC is now warning Americans to cancel all holiday travel plans.
