A fire on the CSX rail bridge between Harper’s Ferry and Sandy Hook briefly delayed MARC trains from running their scheduled commuter service earlier this week.
The trestle bridge across the Potomac River caught fire, cancelling the Brunswick line that runs from West Virginia into Maryland. Service resumed late Tuesday afternoon after crews inspected and made repairs to the bridge. An investigation continues into the cause.
