Members of the Mountain Amateur Radio Cub (MARC) will participate in the National Amateur Radio Field Day event June 26-27 at the old LaVale Swim Club parking lot and Lion’s Pavilion located at 599 Georges Creek Blvd. ARRL Field Day is the single most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. On the fourth weekend of June of each year, thousands of radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations. Field Day is a picnic, a campout, practice for emergencies as well as an informal contest. This event is open to the public, so come see amateur radio operations in person, if your interests are sparked we can provide information as to how you can become a licensed amateur radio operator.
