On Friday, January 19th, 2024, at approximately 3:00 am, The Cumberland City Police responded to the 200 block of Greene St for the report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival on scene, officers observed a heavily damaged Lexus passenger vehicle that had crashed into a snow bank. Officers then made contact with the operator of the vehicle, Aaron Joseph Borho, 27, of Fort Ashby WV. At that time, Borho was field tested and placed under arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that Borho had run off the roadway in the lower blocks of Greene St and struck a house, causing significant damage to both the home and vehicle. It was also discovered that he knocked down a road sign in the area of Baltimore St. After each collision, Borho failed to remain upon the scene and fled the area in his vehicle, eventually crashing for a final time in the 300 block of Greene St. As a result, Borho was issued numerous traffic citations before being released, pending trial in District Court.
