Federal funding cuts have put a pause on many programs for both private and government projects.  WCBC spoke with Cumberland Fire Chief Shannon Adams to find out how cuts are affecting the fire department.  Recently, the department had received a “Safer Grant” to hire nine new fire fighters and Adams says so far, nothing has changed with that money…

   

“There was some concern if there was going to be anything impacting that particular program, and right now and it is not. They have not done anything that has jeopardized that grant or anything for that so we’re very fortunate.”
