Governor Morrisey says West Virginia is facing a $400 million dollar deficit for fiscal year 2026.  The deficit includes $153 million in Medicaid, $47 million in Corrections, and over a $100 million in Education.  Morrisey says he came into office with this problem…

   

“We’ve inherited these issues.  We’re going to fix them.  I want to look the West Virginians in the eye and tell them, ‘we’re going to solve these problems, we’re going to overcome our challenges.  We are going to be that shining state in the mountains, but we’re going to have to change how we do things.”
