It is early in his administration- but already Maryland Governor Wes Moores agenda has some lawmakers concerned he is moving the state too far left. Greatly expanding legalized recreational marijuana, tightening gun control measures, abolishing the sale of gas powered cars, hiking the minimum wage and ensuring that abortions will remain legal and available are among the issues drawing attention during the first General Assembly session under the states new Democrat governor. While Moore has touted a bipartisan approach to governing, Republicans have not had much success in blocking what many feel are ultra left policies, with a super majority Democrat controlled House and Senate pushing the governors priorities forward.
