Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is set to hold a news conference Thursday with state schools Superintendent Karen Salmon. The news conference will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Iglehart Gym on the campus of St. John's College in Annapolis, rather than in or outside the State House, where most briefings from the governor have been held.
Many school systems in Maryland have yet to reopen their buildings for in-person learning. Coronavirus vaccinations are now open to teachers under Phase 1B of the state's vaccination plan.
Hogan's briefing will come shortly after a 2 p.m. appearance in Washington by President Joe Biden, where he is expected to address his national COVID-19 strategy and sign 10 pandemic-related executive orders.
