Laura Herrera Scott, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health, has approved the appointment of Jennifer Hare as the Interim Health Officer for Garrett County.
Hare’s interim role will continue pending completion of the recruitment process. Hare, who is a Certified Public Accountant, takes over following the July 1 retirement of Health Officer Robert Stephens. The Allegany County Health Department is also operating under an Interim Health Officer, Gena Spear, who was appointed following the resignation of Dr. Junie DeLizo in December.
