FSU Professor Honored by Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Artie Travis, Frostburg State University’s vice president for Student Affairs, received the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce 2024 Community Service Award. The award was presented at the Chamber’s annual Recognition Reception. Dr. Travis was part of a group that worked to place the first African American historic marker in Garrett County at Negro Mountain, was a member of the Western Maryland Advisory Council of the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights and is a trustee on the Allegany County Library Board.
