Frostburg’s Community Development office is seeking grant money for new signage at Glendening Park. On the agenda for the Thursday Mayor and Council meeting is discussion of a grant request for around $20,000 to the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area. Director of Community Development Bethany Fife says that this is the first time that Frostburg has been eligible to apply for a grant with the organization as many previous grants were directed toward West Virginia. The signage for Glendening Park is in need of updating and the new Edible Arboretum has no signage for location or the plantings. The grant deadline is July 31st….
Fife explained that once fully mature, the Edible Arboretum will be available for all to walk through and sample the native plantings being installed by the Frostburg Green Team in the park…
