On Saturday, February 24th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police arrested Jordan Marshall Shook, 37, of Cumberland MD. Shook was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on February 12th, 2024. On that date, the Cumberland City Police responded to a vacant residence in the 500 block of Frederick St for the report of a burglary. Once on scene, officers contacted the owner of the property who advised the home was currently being renovated and that numerous tools had been left inside. On this date, a witness observed an unknown male subject leaving the property with bags of items and placing them in a vehicle. The owner was then contacted and he advised that no persons should have been at the property. It was then discovered that tools valued in excess of $1000 were missing from the property. Further investigation led to Shook being identified as the suspect in the incident. A search warrant was then executed at a Valley Road residence and multiple items related to the burglary were recovered. As a result, a warrant was issued for Shook’s arrest. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.
