Raffle winners from the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation “Ride Into History” got their chance Wednesday to be the first to drive on Baltimore Street. Ten winners drove the length of Baltimore Street, several in classic cars. WCBC’s Chris Myers caught up with Vicki Brennaman who made the trip in a red 1957 Chevy. Her State Farm office is on Liberty Street and she has watched the project from the start…
“Oh, it’s gonna be great for downtown. There’s been so many people down here and we’re not even open yet. I see crowds of people on the streets every day and I’m loving it.”
Her driver for the event, Bill Shepherd, said he has fond memories of driving his Chevy downtown…
”Back in the 60’s I used to drive that car up and down Baltimore Street and I look forward to looking at my reflection in the picture windows of all the stores.”
