The first heat-related death of 2024 has been reported in Maryland. A 59-year old Prince George’s County man died in the past week – no further details were provided.
The Maryland Department of Health encourages citizens to cope with extreme heat spells by staying hydrated, staying out of direct sun, and to schedule physical activities in the morning or evening when temps are cooler.
There were 9 heat-related deaths in Maryland last year.
