A fire at a property in McCoole has been ruled accidental by the Maryland State Fire Marshal. The fire which occurred on Sunday near Noon on Power Street, originated in the area of the kitchen of the structure. An electrical failure in wiring was the cause. Firefighters from Potomac Fire Company took approximately half an hour to control the blaze to the vacant building that was undergoing renovations. Loss to the structure was estimated at $100,000.
