On April 20th, 2024 at approximately 10:20 pm, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 500 block of Baltimore Avenue for a reported destruction of property complaint. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with the victim and observed damage to their residence. Evidence was located that identified the suspect to be Dakota Miller on the scene and they canvased the area. At approximately 10:40 pm officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Reynolds Street for a reported suspicious persons complaint. Upon officer’s arrival they were advised that there was a non-resident in the building creating a disturbance. The officers were provided with a description of the suspect, which matched Dakota’s description from previous incidents. As officers began to check the building, the fire alarm was triggered, and Dakota had exited the building where officers were posted. The officers continued their investigation and determined that Dakota had engaged the fire alarm with no emergency present. He was placed under arrest and was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on his own recognizance.
