“Prepped to Serve Appalachia” is an accelerated fine dining worker certification program let by West Virginia Health Right in partnership with Chef Paul Smith, the state’s only James Beard Award-winning chef. The program is funded through a $250,000 grant from WorkForce West Virginia to prepare a group of 40 West Virginians annually for careers in the fine dining industry. State Secretary of Commerce James Bailey says the classes will take place in Charleston under Chef Paul…
“The program will feature an accelerated three month fine dining worker certification program. It is designed to train West Virginians for front-of-house and food prep positions in fine dining restaurants. It will feature 10 West Virginians every quarter, so 40 per year being trained directly from Chef Paul.”
