Less than a year after the announcement that a FedEx Transport Distribution Center would be constructed at Mexico Farms- the project is nearly complete. It was November of last year that the County Commissioners voted to approve construction plans for the distribution center on 40 acres at the corner of Maryland Route 51 and Mexico Farms Road. Jeff Barclay, director of economic development, said the facility will result in many new jobs for the area- and it is the first high-volume employer to build in the area since American Woodmark opened along U.S. Route 220 in 2005.
