The FCC has terminated the license of Meyersdale radio station WQZS after determining that owner Roger Wahl “lacks the qualifications to remain a Commission licensee.” Whal had pled guilty in 2020 to criminal charges including reckless endangerment, unlawful dissemination of intimate images and tampering with evidence. The Federal Communications Commission is also dismissing a petition asking to transfer the station’s license to Wahl’s daughter, Wendy Sipple. WQZS had been allowed to continue broadcasting during the FCC’s investigation but now has until May 22 to go off the air.
