On Saturday, March 8th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 block of Fayette St for the report of a theft of a utility trailer. The victim advised the 8ft trailer had been stolen sometime after 6 am on this date. Later in the day, at approximately 11am, an officer on patrol in the area of Sedgewick St observed a GMC truck with a similar style trailer affixed to it. The officer was able to confirm that the trailer was stolen by the owner’s registration plate that was still being displayed. The officer then made contact with a female inside the suspect truck, Lindsey Nicole Teresi, 30, of Cumberland MD. It was then discovered that the GMC truck she occupied was reported stolen out of Hampshire County WV. At that time, Teresi was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. Contact was then made with the Hampshire County detachment of the West Virginia State Police who were able to produce an arrest warrant for Teresi in reference to the theft of the GMC truck. Teresi was taken before a District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held without bond.
At the time of Teresi’s arrest, a second truck pulling a car trailer arrived on the scene. The truck quickly fled the area in a reckless manner when the officer attempted to make contact with the male operator. Other officer’s were not able to safely stop and contact the operators at the time of the incident. The suspect truck is described as a white in color Chevrolet truck with a utility work bed. At the time of the incident, the truck was pulling a flatbed car trailer. This truck is also believed to be stolen out of Hampshire County WV.
