On April 18, 2025, at approximately 2:25 P.M. Garrett County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Hutton Road near the intersection of Dilly Road, for a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles, a Honda Civic and Ford F150 which both collided, head on. As a result of the collision, Corina Sue Hymes, 55 years old of Terra Alta, West Virginia, and a 16-year-old juvenile male were pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing. On scene assistance was provided by Maryland State Highway, Garrett County Roads Division, Oakland VFD, Deer Park VFD, Aurora VFD, Terra Alta VFD, Southern Garrett Rescue, Northern Garrett Rescue and Preston County EMS.
