Authorities have made an arrest in Westernport due to a false report of a juvenile hostage.  Ashley Nicole Miller, 41, reported that two subjects were currently holding a juvenile at gunpoint in a Front Street residence.  Because of Miller’s report, The Allegany County Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T) composed of Sheriff’s deputies, and Cumberland Police officers was deployed to the home.  After approximately 2 hours, investigators determined that Miller’s complaint was false. She was treated by Tri-Towns Ambulance and later transported to UPMC.  She has been charged with false report of an emergency, false statement to a police officer, and reckless endangerment.  Miller will be served with an arrest warrant upon her release from UPMC.
