High school and non-traditional students can attend the upcoming Fall Open House at Allegany College of Maryland on November 15. Visitors can get specialized tours for programs they are interested in and also tour on-campus housing. ACM’s Coordinator of Student Recruitment Lauren Winterburg tells WCBC that classes are offered in several different ways including in-person, online, hybrid and flex…
“With flex courses, students actually have the opportunity each class to attend in-person, virtually from home or wherever they happen to be, or they have the opportunity to watch that class later when it’s more convenient for them.”
Winterburg also said that many high school students come to the open house with questions about college costs that advisors can answer…
“We really talk to them about affordability, how ACM offers over $1.5 million dollars in scholarship funds every year to students. And talk about the fact, especially for our local students, how cost effective it is and how affordable it can be.”
