The Maryland Republican party announced earlier this month that former Governor Robert Ehrlich would campaign for the party's statewide candidates including gubernatorial nominee Dan Cox. Ehrlich discussed his new role with the party Wednesday when he joined WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show”.
Ehrlich will step into a role normally done by Governor Larry Hogan. However, Hogan said he will not campaign for Cox. Hogan supported Cox's opponent Kelly Schulz in the primary. Cox, who was supported by former President Donald Trump, holds ultra-conservative views that many political observers say make a Democratic victory in November extremely likely. Ehrlich, who declined to discuss the clear split in the state GOP, said those who suggest Cox is unelectable need only to look back at the 1994 gubernatorial contest…
