PharmaCare Network was the recipient of $223,000 from the Senator George Edwards Fund in its first round of grants for economic development across Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties.  PharmaCare President John Balch had applied for $400,000 to update the “clean room” on Commerce Drive in order to meet a federal mandate by November 1st.  The project at PharmaCare is directly tied to both the Pharmacy Technician and Nursing programs at Allegany College of Maryland.  Balch told WCBC, that without the funding he did receive from the Senator Edwards Fund, the project would have resulted in jobs being lost instead of gained for the community…
