December 20th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

The Senator George C. Edwards Fund has awarded one million dollars in support of the redevelopment of 71 Baltimore Street in downtown Cumberland. Kristin and Fred Timbrook, who have already made substantial investment in the building, are spearheading the effort. The Edwards funding is part of an $11.9 million project to convert the building into a multi-use property.  Edwards Fund Director Jake Shade shared with WCBC details on the project. “They will be consolidating some of their management of their regional dealerships so 30 to 40 jobs will be moving to downtown Cumberland as well as a restaurant on the ground floor and some other office space.”
