On 07/31/2022, at approximately 2350 hours, Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a black in color Maserati traveling Eastbound, on Interstate 68, near the 45 mile marker. Upon making contact with the occupants, Deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, Deputies located a large quantity of suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture, cocaine, methamphetamine, Amphetamine & Dextroamphetamine pills, and Suboxone, along with a loaded 9MM Springfield Hellcat handgun. Additionally, Deputies located packaging material and various controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia which further indicated an intent to distribute the controlled dangerous substances. A large sum of U.S. currency was also located which is believed to be derived from the sale of controlled substances. It was further learned that one of the suspects was a convicted felon who is currently on parole.
Pursuant to the investigation, Deputies arrested and charged Perez Estavon James of Glenn Burnie MD with the following:
CDS possession not marijuana x 6
CDS POSS W/INT DIST Narc x 2
CDS POSS W/INT DIST not marijuana x 2
CDS POSS Large Amount
CDS POSS W/INT DIST Heroin/Fentanyl mixture
Firearm Possession w/felony conviction
Firearm use in felony crime
Firearm use in drug trafficking crime
CDS DIST W/Firearm
Loaded Handgun in Vehicle
Illegal Ammunition Poss
Assault weapon/magazine use in drug crime
Numerous traffic citations
Also arrested and on scene was Destiny Lynn Harper, of Hagerstown MD, who was charged with the following:
CDS possession not marijuana x 3
CON CDS POSS W/INT DIST x 3
CDS POSS large amount
CDS POSS W/INT DIST Heroin/Fentanyl mixture
Both subjects were remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center following their initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
