Downtown Building Renovations In Question

The former police station at 19 Frederick Street has been vacant since 2009. Clock Tower Ventures of Hagerstown purchased the building from the City of Cumberland for one dollar eighteen months ago – with stipulations. The agreement was to have the building returned to an operable condition within two years. Now, the City wants a check-in with the developer to see how plans are going to open a bar, events space and air b-n-b.  Mayor Ray Morriss said the city wants to make sure everything is being done on schedule to bring the building back to life…
