On November 15th, 2024 at approximately 12:42 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the intersection of Baltimore Street and George Street for a motor vehicle accident. During the course of the investigation, Dale A. Sines Jr. failed to provide proof of insurance. When questioned about the insurance Sines began to argue and yell at officers. Sines was given orders to stop yelling, but continued to yell gaining the attention of many people in the area. After failing to comply with officer’s orders, Sines was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court commissioner and released on his own recognizance.

On October 30, 2024 at approximately 2:22 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 800 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Police arrived and observed Benjamin Anastasio yelling at the employees. It was reported that Anastasio walked onto the property and began to threaten to kill everyone and burn the building down. Officers contacted Anastasio who was uncooperative and refused to listen to officers. When officers went to arrest Anastasio, he resisted. After a brief struggle, Anastasio was taken into police custody. He was then transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
