Dems Want More Than Tax Credit During WV Special Session

West Virginia’s Democrats want to address more than a childcare tax credit when the legislature convenes later this month.  Governor Justice called the second special session of the year for September 30 and hopes to pass a personal income tax cut and a childcare tax credit equal to 50% of the federal child and dependent care credit.  Delegate John Williams of Monongalia County says several childcare issues need to be addressed…

“If we want to broaden the base; if we want a competent, sober workforce – don’t look out of state. They’re in our communities right now. Instead of going for the bare minimum, why don’t we try to achieve excellence? Make West Virginia a place where young people want to come with their families because they have the freedom to join the workforce. The freedom to have one more child without fear of it breaking their bank account.”
