The Downtown Development Commission will receive $183,500 in American Rescue Plan Act funds- that announcement made during the December meeting of the DDC. The Cumberland City Council voted earlier in the month to award the money, which will be dispersed over a three-year period. DDC chair Sandra Saville said the money can be used for a variety of reasons including supporting special events, marketing and promotions. With groundbreaking for renovations on the Baltimore Street pedestrian mall set for spring, Saville said the funding comes at an opportune time and will be put to good use…
