The Downtown Development Commission held their monthly meeting on Thursday and approved their Fiscal Year 2024 budget.  The operating budget is a total of $385,179 with main expenditures in the departments of Payroll and Health Insurance, Administrative charges and almost $82,000 for Entertainment, Marketing and Promotions. Revenues are expected to come from property taxes, ARPA funds and grant money as well as $73,600 from the city of Cumberland’s general fund.  DDC Executive Director Melinda Kelleher spoke to the commission specifically about support being planned for downtown businesses during the holiday season to attract shoppers to the area…
