On Saturday April 6th, 2024 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the ten block of Queen City Drive for a reported assault in progress. Upon officer’s arrival they observed Daquan Donaldson to be holding the victim down on the ground. Officers interviewed the victim and learned that Donaldson had thrown him to the ground and assaulted them. Officers additionally interviewed witnesses in the area and they confirmed that Donaldson was the aggressor in the incident, and that he had created a disturbance. Donaldson was placed under arrest, and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.
Arrest: Daquan Lamel Donaldson, age 43, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Assault Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace.

On Saturday, February 17, 2024 at approximately 9:20 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of Arch Street for a disturbance. Police contacted an alleged victim who reported that he had been assaulted by Layla Smith-Dennison. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. After further investigation, Smith-Dennison was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.

CHARGES: Assault-2nd Degree
