On Thursday, November 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Elias James Harr, 44, of Cumberland MD. Harr was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on November 8th. During that incident, it is alleged that Harr assaulted a male subject in an attempt to inhibit that subject from testifying against him in court. Harr was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On Thursday, November 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Tyler Cloud Dixon, 39, of Cumberland MD. Dixon was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County Circuit Court on November 8th. The warrant alleges Dixon violated the terms and conditions of his probation that had been placed upon him that stemmed from a previous DUI conviction. Dixon was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

On Thursday, November 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to a business in the 600 block of Industrial Blvd for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers met with a female victim who advised an argument began inside the business. The argument escalated and the victim had a hot coffee thrown in her face, resulting in visible injuries. As a result, John Joseph Smith, 68, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. Smith was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was released on his own recognizance.
