The yard improvements at the CSX Cumberland facility are almost completed. The yard work included demolishing the old hump and tower where trains were assembled and adding new switching leads and a 4,600-foot classification track. When finished, CSX Cumberland will be able to handle more than 850 cars a day, up from the current 350. Cumberland’s yards will also see a return of work that had been parceled out to Connellsville and Brunswick.
